Yas Island Unplugged: Inside an Unforgettable FAM Trip!

Found Out What Macy & Rachel Got Up To on Macy’s First Ever FAM Trip with All About Travel!

I have just returned from an unforgettable 5-night FAM trip to Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and it was the perfect mix of world-class theme parks, unique experiences, beautiful hotels and vibrant nightlife. Everything on Yas Island is so close together, making it incredibly easy to explore while still feeling luxurious and relaxed. The Hilton as well as the WB Hotel include tickets to all parks if you are staying there!

Here’s a breakdown of the trip in the exact order we experienced it, to give a real insight into what a Yas Island stay is like.

Arrival & Hilton Yas Island

We arrived in Abu Dhabi and were transferred straight to Hilton Yas Island, where we stayed throughout the trip. The hotel was absolutely incredible – modern, stylish and set right on Yas Bay with stunning waterfront views.

The rooms are beautiful, the service was amazing and the location couldn’t be better, with easy access to the theme parks, Yas Mall and Yas Bay. Hilton Yas Island is a perfect option for couples, families and groups alike.

That evening, we headed out to Café del Mar Beach Club, which had a brilliant atmosphere by the pool and is ideal for sunset drinks, followed by McCafferty’s Irish Bar, which was great fun and lively – the perfect spot for a relaxed night out.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Our first theme park visit was Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster. The park offers a great mix of thrilling rides, simulators and more relaxed attractions, making it suitable for all types of visitors.

We explored the park with fast-track access and enjoyed lunch at Mamma Rossella, which was a great mid-day stop before heading back to the hotel.

Yas Links Golf Course

That evening, we visited Yas Links Golf Course for sunset drinks and dinner at The Crafty Fox, with beautiful views over the course and the water. We also had the chance to hit a few golf balls – I’ll admit I wasn’t very good at it, but it was such a fun experience and something a little different to do on Yas Island.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Next, we headed to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, a fully indoor theme park packed with immersive lands inspired by DC superheroes, Looney Tunes and classic Warner Bros. characters.

The attention to detail throughout the park is amazing, and it’s a brilliant option for families, especially during the warmer months.

Brunch at The WB Hotel – The Director’s Club

Following Warner Bros. World, we headed to The WB Hotel for brunch at The Director’s Club. The theming throughout the hotel is incredible, and the brunch itself was fab – a really special dining experience and a great way to slow things down slightly after a busy morning.

CLYMB Abu Dhabi

After brunch, we visited CLYMB Abu Dhabi, which is home to indoor skydiving and climbing experiences. This was such a fun, adrenaline-filled activity and something completely different to the traditional theme parks.

TeamLab Phenomena

The following morning, we visited TeamLab Phenomena, an immersive digital art experience that was unlike anything else on the island. The interactive installations and use of light made this a real standout and a great non-theme-park activity.

Yas Waterworld

Later that day, we headed to Yas Waterworld, which was one of my favourite experiences of the entire trip. I’m a massive fan of waterparks and being in the sun, so this was right up my street.

With a great mix of thrill slides, relaxing areas and cabanas, it’s perfect whether you want high-energy fun or a more chilled day by the water. It’s an absolute must-do, especially if you love waterparks as much as I do.

SeaWorld Abu Dhabi

Next on the itinerary was SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, a huge marine life theme park combining education, conservation and immersive experiences. The park is beautifully designed, with themed areas inspired by oceans from around the world.

We also enjoyed lunch inside the park, making it a really easy and enjoyable full experience.

The Stranger Things Experience

That afternoon, we visited The Stranger Things Experience, and as a huge Stranger Things fan, I was completely stuck in from the moment we arrived. The experience is fully immersive and so well done – it genuinely feels like stepping into the show.

I also couldn’t resist picking up a bit of Stranger Things merch, which is perfect for last-minute Christmas presents (or a little treat for yourself!).

Farewell Event – The WB Hotel Rooftop

To round off the trip, we attended our farewell event on the rooftop of The WB Hotel, which was such a lovely way to end the FAM. The food, views and atmosphere were all amazing and it really felt like the perfect send-off after such a packed itinerary.

Saadiyat Island Hotel Visit

On our final morning, we checked out and headed to Saadiyat Island for a hotel visit – and honestly, this hotel exceeded all expectations. Everything about it was unreal: the rooms, the pool, the beach, the setting – a full 10/10. It felt luxurious, calm and completely different to Yas Island, making it a perfect option for those wanting a more relaxed beach stay.

Final Thoughts

This trip truly showed just how amazing Yas Island is for everyone . Our itinerary was completely jam-packed, and yet there were still so many things we didn’t get around to doing. With multiple theme parks, waterparks, experiences, hotels, restaurants and entertainment all in one place, it’s a destination where families genuinely won’t run out of things to do.

It’s also perfect for adventurous couples who want action-packed days but still want time to relax. All of the hotels we visited were beautiful, offering that balance between excitement and downtime.

Most of Yas Island is walkable and very close together, but even when you do need transport, getting around is incredibly easy. Visiting in December was ideal – it was still extremely warm (no jacket needed at night!) and the island felt really festive and Christmassy, which added such a lovely touch to the experience.

This was my first ever FAM trip, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better one. I don’t think any will ever beat this – Yas Island completely exceeded expectations and is a destination I would recommend again and again.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to contact myself or Rachel if you have you have any questions.
